Careers at Down Ballot
We help local candidates build the kind of campaign infrastructure usually reserved for bigger races—and we’re looking for thoughtful, detail-loving people to do it with us.
See open rolesWhy the work matters
Down Ballot helps campaigns turn limited time and resources into disciplined fundraising, field, digital, and compliance programs. The work is concrete, close to the candidate, and visible in the communities our clients serve.
Our field guide
Campaigns move quickly. Good work here pairs urgency with judgment and keeps the next step clear for busy candidates and staff.
Turn deep knowledge into advice and systems a campaign can act on today.
Be dependable with the data, deadlines, and follow-through that campaigns rely on.
Keep the candidate, the district, and the campaign’s real constraints in view.
How our remote team works
Our team works across locations, but never without context or connection. We communicate clearly, trust people to own their work, and show up for one another when campaigns get intense.
Our values
At DownBallot, our values have to hold when they are inconvenient. We are explicitly anti-racist, radically feminist, and committed to universal accessibility. We believe liberation must include workers; people of color; women; trans, queer, and intersex people; and neurodivergent, chronically ill, and disabled people. These commitments shape how we treat one another, choose our work, and make decisions. When the principled choice costs votes, revenue, time, or ego, we still choose it—and keep working to dismantle oppression.
We examine power, challenge racist systems, and make our commitments visible in decisions and daily work.
We reject patriarchal norms and support the full agency, safety, leadership, and liberation of women and gender-expansive people.
We design communication, tools, and collaboration so disabled, chronically ill, and neurodivergent people can fully participate.
When comfort or convention conflicts with marginalized people’s freedom, we choose the principled path and keep learning.
